How to use UploadFrog

A short tour of guest uploads, your library, folders, galleries, and community features.

Updated 17 August 2026

1. Guest upload

Open the home page

Go to uploadfrog.com while logged out.

Choose one image

Drop or select a single JPEG, PNG, GIF, or WebP file within the size limit shown on the form.

Upload & share the link

After upload you get a direct link. Guest files are temporary and are removed automatically after the retention period stated on the page.

Need permanent storage, videos, folders, or galleries? Register a free account.

2. Create an account

  1. Open Register and choose a username, email, and password.
  2. Confirm any verification steps if prompted.
  3. Sign in from Login whenever you return.

You must be 18 or older. By creating an account you agree to the Terms of Service.

To permanently delete your account, use Delete my account on your profile. We email a confirmation link; the account is removed only after you open that link and confirm.

3. Upload to your library

While logged in, use the home upload form (or folder upload) to add images and videos.

  • Select one or many files (images and supported videos).
  • Stay within the per-file size limit shown on the form.
  • Uploaded media appears in My library for later management.

4. Galleries

When uploading multiple files, enable Create gallery to publish them as one album with a shared gallery page. You can also upload into an existing folder and create a gallery there.

5. Folders

Folders help you organize media under a public (or restricted) collection URL.

Create

Create a folder from your library tools, then open it anytime via your profile or folder link.

Upload into a folder

Open the folder and use Upload to add media or galleries directly into that collection.

Manage

Use folder settings for details such as visibility options and moderator management where available.

6. Folder moderators

Folder owners can invite other registered users as moderators and grant limited privileges (for example helping manage uploads or comments in that folder).

  1. Open the folder you own.
  2. Open Moderators / settings.
  3. Invite a username and choose which privileges they should have.

You can revoke access later. Moderators must still follow the Terms of Service.

7. Comments & votes

On public media and gallery pages you can:

  • Leave comments (subject to daily limits, especially for new accounts).
  • Vote on posts and comments where voting is enabled.

Be civil. Spam, abuse, and illegal content are not allowed.

8. Friends & messages

Add people you trust from Friends or from their profile. Only accepted friends can send private messages to each other.

Add a friend

Search by username, send a request, and wait for them to accept. You can also accept from the notification bell.

See who’s online

Friends active in the last few minutes show a green presence dot on Friends, profiles, and chats.

Message

Open Messages or tap Message on a friend’s profile. Folder hosts and moderators still have a separate folder chat in the same inbox.

9. Browse

See recent public posts on Browse. The funnel icon opens sort options (Newest, Oldest, Most viewed, Most liked) and Hide seen, which skips posts you already opened. The same control is on folder pages. Use it to find new media and open the folders linked from those posts.

10. Discover

Explore Public & shared folders on Discover (signed in). Search by folder or owner, open a folder, and subscribe to follow updates on My feed. A My feed link you copy from the address bar is fine to send a friend: they land on the public media or gallery page, not inside your personal feed.

11. Install the app

UploadFrog can be installed as an app on your phone or computer. It opens full-screen from your home screen or app list. You still need a network connection for pages, uploads, and messages.

  • Android / Chrome / Edge: use the Install banner, or the browser menu → Install app / Add to Home screen.
  • iPhone / iPad (Safari): tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.

Signed in, the app keeps message and notification badges up to date without reloading the page (including when you go Back). For lock-screen alerts while the app is in the background, open the bell and tap Enable alerts, then allow notifications. iPhone alerts work after the app is on the Home Screen.

12. Tips & limits

  • Guest uploads are temporary — register to keep files permanently.
  • File size and rate limits exist to keep the service stable for everyone.
  • Keep backups of important originals; hosting is provided “as available.”
  • Review Privacy for cookies, analytics, and your data rights.
